Violet Elizabeth Southall-Miller, 82, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2019. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the First Baptist Church Willow Park, located at 601 Ranch House Rd., Willow Park, Texas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Violet was born on November 10, 1936 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Steven and Frieda Newman-Palhegyi. Violet spent her first 6 years in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where she created many happy early childhood memories with her older siblings John and Rebecca. The family then moved to National City which is located in the county of San Diego, California. Violet attended and graduated Sweetwater High School, (Home of the Red Devils), in National City. She was very active and participated in many school clubs and activities which included: Imp & Devils, Legislature, Su-Ettes, Pom Pon, Drill Team, and CSF. She was the Assistant Commissioner of Tickets and she also earned 2 awards for Shorthand. After high school Violet attended and graduated from dental hygienist school. She then began a 52 year full time career in the dental field, which included teaching at the dental hygienist school. Violet earned a 2 year college degree which allowed her to teach at the school. Violet eventually moved from chair side hygienist work to managing the front office. She spent most of her career in front office management. Violet married her first husband, Albert Ziegler and they had two children, Jeffrey Paul and John Michael Ziegler. Sadly, the marriage was short lived. Violet met and married her second husband, Wallace Southall, who preceded Violet in death. They were married for 44 years. Violet and Wallace retired and moved to Weatherford, Texas in 2006. In retirement, Violet found a sense of purpose and joy in volunteering for the Weatherford Police Department and in 2008 was awarded the police department's "Volunteer of the year" award. Violet is survived by her third husband, Clem Miller. They had 5 happy years together. Sadly during 4 of these 5 years together Violet bravely battled cancer. She is also survived by her brother, John Palhegyi and sister Rebecca McElyea; sons, Jeffrey and his children: Danielle Violet Pauls and Lance Jeffrey Ziegler, John Michael and wife Susan and their children: Addison and Christian Ziegler. Violet is also survived by 6 nieces and 3 nephews. Violet was a member of First Baptist Church of Willow Park, Texas. She was raised in the Baptist faith by her parents and was a lifelong Baptist. Violet loved attending church services and learning about God's Word. She also enjoyed spending many hours reading her bible. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the First Baptist Church of Willow Park, Holland Lake Hospice, all the doctors, nurses and care givers that treated and cared for Violet and a special thank you to family friends Anna and Duane Riegel for their tireless efforts to help, support and give encouragement to our dear Violet.
